First Attempt on Blogger

As this is my first post for this blog, let me try to do something nice with it. Let's see... Oh yes, recently I was sent to Hong Kong for six weeks to work on some project. well yes it is fun in a way but let me tell you it's not all that fun. The work piles up in a pace of a Ferrari car yet the manpower to get the job done is only me! So as you can see it is pretty bad.

But apart from that, there's a couple of nice things to do in Hong Kong as well. Travelling around, meeting new people and the best part is SHOPPING!! Unfortunately i'm not so much of a shopping fan but indeed i got to buy some items worth keeping.. :)

First of all, every night i would go to work as usual but the fun only starts at night after work which is around 11pm. Then where would I go?? hmm...not so much for shopping i guess as you can see the time i finished work. so i took a couple of block walk and end up at a place called...

Yeap. It's called Lan Kwai Fong... The famous nightlife of Hong Kong. Well very similar to the Bangsar we have in KL but you can't seem to find any other races apart from chinese and white people... So you may think, "Hmm.... not much of a variety for a pick up now is it?" haha...

Drinks are fine, well exceptionally cheap if you calculate it with the pub/club price in KL. 1 pint of beer is about HK$ 54. That's about RM25 for a pint. And a pint is huge unlike the bloody glass/mug we have in KL; well double the size actually! and my favourate drink there is.....HOEGAARDEN and SCHNEIDER-WEISSE!!!

Looks COOL huh?? Well you can get these beers in KL actually. I have been to several places that has Hoegaarden. Places like Bangsar Village, inside Village Grocer, you can look for these cool beers in the alcohol section. Bangsar Shopping Complex, Cold Storage has these as well. Oh yea, I found it in Sunway Pyramid's Tony Roma's Restaurant as well.

Another part of Hong Kong is I did picked up a funny interest of collecting Miniature Figurines like McFarlane's Spawn, H.G.Giger's Alien and Predator!!

These are the Spawns I was able to find and trust me when I said it is not EASY! I had to walk to several buildings, check them out one by one and come back the the previous building to get what I liked. It is really tiresome I tell you! OK, let's continue with the pictures...

Wicked Sick huh? I know, I know, it's hard to resist. Well, for me at least. When i was looking at these toys at the glassed windows, it was as if calling out for me asking me to buy it! spooky! So much for resisting temptations. Sigh...

Apart from this, I also bought a Legend. Classic, Old-School piece of Figurine; which is....

YES! You've guessed it!! Transformers' Optimus Prime!! As I was walking to go out of the building of toys, I spotted this thing and I was like, "Wow!! I need to get this... This is classic." and so I opened my wallet, paid the guy and got something satisfying with it. Damn that feels good. lol...

I remember when I was way younger around the age of 8-10, my family and I were walking around Toys R' Us looking for a toy to get me for my Christmas present. When I passed this isle of Transformers collections, I saw the very first edition of Optimus Prime, costing RM99.90!! (During those days, 99 bucks is a huge sum; and my parents aren't that rich either) I immediately fell in love with it. (Not the 'love' we're talking about when we're adults) and obviously I was excited to get it! (Not the erotic kind of excitement ok?) My parents was reluctant to get it for me as it was a wee bit too expensive for a kid like me. So what i did? I threw a fit! Crying, stomping feets, shouting, you name it, I did it! so eventually I got it and that was one of my happiest moments in life.

Oh well, enough talk and I think I have to end this post for now. So that's part of my Hong Kong trip and I might write some more about it in the future if I get anymore inspiration like today. Well not inspiration actually, more like being bored in office with nothing to do. Cheers!
