Biggest Burger in the City!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Wow.... Finally, after long anticipation, Carl's Junior had finally opened its first franchise in Mid Valley. I've been wanting to eat that burger for a long long time. Last I had it was when I was in the States. Man those burgers are out to kill!

Those burgers indeed are huge. Crazy. Any normal Asian girls would not be able to finish them. Well I'm only saying those girls who order a plate of rice and can only able to finish half of it, Trust be, you need another partner to finish the whole set.

I ordered this Double Western Cheese Burger... Damn it taste so good. The burger was huge till they had to cut it to half so it would be easier for me to hold the damn thing. Wahahaha

Price wise I think it's rather expensive. But hey it's twice the size of McDonalds so I think it's fair enough coz it costs twice the price of McD.... Definitely a hearty meal. I personally would wanna label Carl's Jr. The Best FastFood Chain in Malaysia. Kudos Kudos...

    Side Note:

Somehow I just love English. A friend and I had a MSN conversation and here's how it goes...

Me: Wow your DP (display picture) looks nice.
Girl: Yea, I seldom take pictures of myself.
Me: Well, we're almost alike. I suck at camwhoring. (some of you people knows that as a fact) I can't camwhore to save my life.
Girl: I suck in front of camera....
    Me: o.O???? Wahahahahahahahahahaha

I can't stop laughing the whole night I tell ya...Damn that was the best joke I've ever heard!!

I'm Sorry, I Just Have To Do This...

This happened also on Friday. Dinner to be exact. I was asked by another group of colleagues to head to Pavilion (the new mall) to try out this particular Japanese food chain. Apparently they have this restaurant too in Singapore and the branch in Pavilion is the first in Malaysia.

Honestly, I thought the price of this place would be a killer. I did not bring much cash that day coz I was too lazy to withdraw money from the office ATM machine. It charges me RM1 coz I'm taking money out from a different bank. Useless policy...

Overall the environment looks classy. As usual, the moment you step in a Japanese restaurant, the whole place would bark greet you welcome. Designs of the place looks pretty much comfortable and it is comfy as well. :)

Not to mention the conveyor belt for the sushi dishes are very very long. and yea the varieties of sushi in there is WAY more than Genki or Sushi King. (I still like Oh Sushi by the way) Price wise for the sushi plates are reasonable. They have from RM2, RM4, RM6 and RM8. Same like any sushi stores except for Yo! Sushi. Trust me. NEVER EVER go there. It's in Pavilion too but the price is like CRAZY! Starting sushi price is from RM3, RM6, RM9. Even for a green tea they charge you for RM5.

    So here's what we ordered...

I ordered this Tempura Soba. Just normal plain noodles with a piece of Tempura flour on top. Taste wise is pretty good. But of course I would love it better if it's Ramen instead of Soba. This restaurant only makes Soba or Udon. Nothing more nothing less...

We got the Half Curry Udon as well. Not bad though. Rich of curry smell and yet not too spicy.

This is a whole piece of Soft shell Crab. It carries a little spicy taste and yes the crab is still crispy inside. Definitely a good recommendation.

Oh yes, This restaurant has quite a lot of lobster salad sushi or hand rolls. Like this one above is called crispy salad lobster roll. Any of you have never tried eating lobsters before I think this would be a good place to start. Cheap and affordable Mwahahaha....

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
See the Inari beancurd there? It's filled with lobster salad filling as well. Dam I must tell you they taste good. The one of your left is Something Salmon something! (LOL sorry i kinda forgotten the names. All too fancy with em)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
And the hand roll you see, it's another one of their lobster salad variety.

Lastly after consuming what I think is 1/4 of the restaurant, We found something in the menu that triggered our curiosity. The Tempura Ice cream..

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I was thinking like "How the hell they're gonna fry tempura all over the ice cream?" Guess I got the answer moments later when I see they actually DID fry the ice cream. It's hot and crispy outside yet cool and creamy inside. Definitely a good try.

Overall the place makes a good dine out place with your friends and families. But if you want a romantic and quiet place, I doubt this would be ideal. You don't want to have the whole restaurant barking greeting at people when they enter WHEN YOU TRY TO PROPOSE TO YOUR GIRLFRIEND right? hahaha

After consuming all the food we had, It was the best time for us to start turning in for the night like this:

    *Yawn*

Side Note: Apologies for the bad photography. I'm only using my mobile phone that day as I did not see such events coming that requires a camera. I mean c'mon! who would bring their DSLR everywhere they go right?

    Feel Like Eating Something?

    Side Note:
Would like to reach out a condolence note to my primary school teacher, Mr. Cheng Teck Soon. Passed away peacefully on Thursday, 1st November 2007. He was my School teacher, my tuition teacher and a great father / husband to his family. Your presence will be dearly missed by all of us. Sorry as I could not go back to Sitiawan for your memorial as it was a working day for me with the last minute notice. :(

OK. Back to business, Last Friday, my colleagues and I decided to try out this restaurant called Sek Yuen, at Jalan Pudu. This restaurant is around 50 over years old. Passing down from generations to generations. To tell you the truth, The restaurant looks a little dodgy but it is well known for its food being cooked using charcoal and not by gas.

See What I mean, dodgy isn't it? Looks like any ordinary coffee shop selling those hawker food. (Picture courtesy by Masak-Masak)

It has several famous dishes though such as the Pei Pa Duck:

Stuffed Pork Trotters (In which we did not order that day).

We had the duck of course. And some other dishes as well in which I feel some of them, isn't all that great after all. Well I think it's only 1 dish that all 10 of us who went there did not like.

Their so-called Jiu Pai Tofu (Beancurd).

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Some of you might know that I'm a fan of tofu. But for this case, This dish here is simply TASTELESS!!! I wonder why is it so special? I mean maybe, yeah, they're right. All the food chains in Malaysia selling tofu has certain tastes. Maybe for Sek Yuen, their specialty for tofu is tasteless =.="

Apart from that, we also ordered Kailan Vegetable with roast pork:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
This dish now is really nice. I'm not a fan of vegetables at all as some people may know but for this dish, I ate a fair amount and still wanted more :P

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
We also ordered this sweet and sour pork. This dish has no difference. It's nice and tasty but I know better restaurants that serves better ones than this. So yea I have no complains as this is just....ordinary.

We ordered fish head and another vegetable dish as well but I did not manage to take any pictures of it. Mainly it was due to my colleagues are too hungry till they were gobbling up any food they see on sight like a hungry horde of pigs pack of wolves. I was one of them too but for me, it was a turn off coz I did not bring my camera along that day so I had to use my phone camera with lousy shots. So the mood kinda dropped! hehe

Oh yes, even the rice is being cooked by charcoal and the fragrance is different. Smells nice though and the taste? umm honestly I cant taste any difference. Rice is still rice to me... =.=

All in all, the restaurant is pretty nice and the price is yea, reasonable. Totalled up about RM186 in which the 10 of us only had to pay like RM18.6 per person. So all is good and headed back to office feeling sleepy thanks to the Carbs!! So what did we do in office?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
There you go. Best way to spend your Friday afternoons in office LOL
